Essential Skills for Working with Children and Young People Course

Take your career in a new direction by learning the essential skills required for working with children and young people

We are very pleased to have been awarded an ESF Community Grant, as part of the European Social Fund (ESF) programme, so we can deliver our Essential Skills for Working with Children and Young People course in York.

FREE* three day course

The course will provide an introduction to working with children and young people and will cover:

  • Understanding the children's workforce
  • Managing challenging behaviour
  • Dealing with trauma and attachment issues
  • Employment and career development coaching

We will help you to develop your knowledge, skills and confidence and to consider if working or volunteering in this sector is for you. You will receive a certificate on completion, plus one-to-one careers coaching to support you to take your next steps.

*Please note: the course is FREE to people not in employment. Don't meet the criteria for a free place? Don't worry, you are still welcome to purchase a place on the course for the fee of £150.00

Haxby Road Primary School - 9.15am-2.45pm - 11th, 18th, 25th October 2017

Tang Hall Primary School - 9.15am-2.45pm - 10th, 17th, 24th November 2017

Hob Moor Primary School - 9.15am-2.45pm - 30th November, 7th and 14th December 2017
