Booking now open for York Essential Skills for Working With Children and Young People Course!

 

Take your career in a new direction by learning the essential skills required for working with children & young people.

We’re pleased to announce that a European Social Fund grant has provided funding for BrightSparks to run our four-day Essential Skills for Working with Children and Young People course in York in January 2019. The course free to people not in employment (you don’t need to be in receipt of benefits, you just need to be out of work at the moment).

The course will provide an introduction to working with children and young people and will cover:

  • Understanding the children’s workforce

  • Managing challenging behaviour

  • Dealing with trauma and attachment issues

  • Developing emotional resilience in children & young people

  • Employment and career development coaching

We will help you to develop your knowledge, skills and confidence to consider if working or volunteering in this sector is for you. You will receive a certificate on completion, plus one-to-one careers coaching to support you to take your next steps. 

A light lunch is also provided on each of the course dates.

Dates: Monday 7th, Tuesday 8th, Monday 14th and Tuesday 15th January 2019
